A Coffee Break With Tammi Roy
We all know that being a parent is a full-time job.
Tammi Roy, a busy Mom from Red Deer, Alberta, runs a popular blog called My Organized Chaos , which focuses on motherhood with twins plus one. She can’t imagine what her day would be like without coffee, especially when juggling home and family life. We check-in with Tammi to see how she manages it all.
As a busy Mother of three girls with a bustling career - how does coffee fit into your lifestyle?
My motto is, “Never to talk to me before my morning coffee,” and it's true. I'm much more alert, happier and able to tackle the day when I've had my coffee. It’s best enjoyed when I’m able to wake-up before the kids and I have a chance to finish the whole cup in peace and solitude. Yet sometimes I have to sip away while running around in the chaos, which often results in re-warming the same cup at least once. That should be illegal, right?
What do you usually put in your coffee?
I have a soft spot for flavoured creamers, yet lately I’ve been adding only a splash of milk.
What is your favourite brewing method at home?
A few years ago I was introduced to Keurig single serve brewers and I haven't looked back. I used to waste a lot of coffee, and waiting for a pot to brew is sheer torture. Now when I have a moment to spare, I have an instant cup in my hands and all is right in life. #TrueLove
Do you have a favourite sweet or savoury treat that you like to pair with your coffee?
Nope, just the coffee is fantastic to me!
Your motherhood blog, My Organized Chaos has over 17,000+ followers on Twitter ! How did you get interested in blogging and what drives your passion behind it?
I love the communication and camaraderie of talking to other parents and people from all over the world. My drive is to gain and give knowledge, to share my life and in turn learn more about others. Blogging is not only my business but also hopefully a treasured read for my kids one day.
What is your typical day like and how do you balance everything?
From sun-up to sun-down, my days are a mix of: transporting to school, finding time for the gym, getting in work time, household chores, various activities and making memories along with playing with my children. My balance is all about scheduling; without it I think I'd run in circles.
What is your Coffee Profile?
Mellow & Fruity , which couldn't be more accurate. Breakfast Blend (Light Roast) is always in my cart with each trip to Costco. Speaking of which, a cup is calling me now - cheers!
