A tribute to Moms
Our moms. Those super-women in our lives who juggle a so many tasks at a time and never seem to slow down. We’d like to take advantage of Mother’s Day, which is just around the corner, to thank them and encourage them to take a little time for themselves.
We asked a few moms and soon-to-be-moms in the blog world what they dowhen they had a little Me-Time to spare. Here are their answers:
Kim Vallee, mother and lifestyle blogger : “I am lucky to have a support system who can entertain Zack during weekdays. This enables me to do my own things, go shopping to spot trends and inspirations, and meet my girlfriends for lunch or a long coffee chat knowing that Zack is doing well at home. I also go out without Zack once or twice a week with my husband or to see friends.”
Kelly Doody, blogger and Van Houtte ambassador : “As a new mom, work-life balance is very challenging. To take time for myself, i use two words: nap time. I never imagined how much I could possibly appreciate the sight and sound of a sleeping baby. That's when, for a few glorious hours each day, a nice cup of coffee comes out, and I go from being mom, milk truck and diaper changer to myself again. I'm not sure I'd survive without them!”
Jen Maier, mother, founder of Urbanmoms.ca : “Time for myself? Hilarious! I am at a point in my life where the only "free" time I have is sleep! However, if I could take the time, I would just go on a beach with a glass of wine and a good book.”
Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers. Thank you for being there for us. Don’t forget to take a break… with a good cup of coffee!
