Meet the Van Houtte Ambassadors
Van Houtte Coffee recently paired with 4 fantastic characters and bean lovers. Meet them and see how we are all about to get really excited about the next coming year with Van Houtte.
James Chatto
James is an award winning author, journalist and food and drink enthusiast. With almost 25 years of food critiquing experience, he comes to the table with a vast and diverse knowledge in food, wine and coffee. He was born in London, England, lived in Greece with his wife and finally made his way to Canada in 1987 where he was writing for the Toronto Life. James has published several cookbooks and books about food in general.
Over the next year, James and I will be communicating on several occasions where I will be able to learn more about his expertise and adapt it to our common interests, coffee. He already has some great ideas for some coffee inspired cocktails, and I can’t wait to share them with you.
Kelly Doody
Kelly does everything that requires writing and communicating. She’s a blogger, journalist, columnist and you can catch her on TV and radio often enough. From Calgary, she’s known for knowing. You can count on her for the inside scope on almost any big event.
Kelly has lived in Montreal, Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary; she has a clear indication about coffee culture in Canada. I would say Kelly is a true bean lover. Over the next year, Kelly and I will be uncovering some of the best events happening in Canada, and always with a cup of coffee.
Wendy Boys
If you like chocolate, you will love Wendy. She’s an award winning pastry chef and chocolatier. She also owns one of the sweetest shops in Vancouver, Cocolico. Wendy is dedicated in making some of the finest handmade chocolates and sweet sauces. Wendy has an act for really pushing the boundaries in the chocolate world. She often participates in competitions and organizations around the world, learning and teaching from and to the best of chocolate and pastries.
What better than a coffee to go with your chocolate, right? She recently matches some of her chocolate bars with our Van Houtte Coffee Profiles, and it was a treat to divulge into the pairing. Together, Wendy and I will be preparing some great treats for you!
Marc-André Royal
Chef Royal is a Montreal based chef and owner of the decadent Le St-Urbain restaurant. With an unprecedented charm, Marc-Andre prepares some of the best meals in the city. Marc-Andre has been around, working in Whistler, Vancouver, New York and London, England and really brings his broad cooking knowledge to each plate. He might catch him either at the restaurant or at his bakery, La Bête à Pain.
He recently developed a 14-course coffee inspired menu for some guest bloggers and I and it nothing but fascinating, inspiring and delicious. My collogue and fellow French blogger, Clarah will dishing out all kinds of recipes and coffee inspired ideas with Marc-Andre, but not to worry, we have a translator and will be sharing them all!
