Calgarian Coffee Habits Uncovered
Our ambassador Kelly Doody is always on the go. Social butterfly, she went around Calgary to ask people about their coffee habits.
On the go, in the car, down the Deerfoot… no matter the day, the weather or their destination, there’s no doubting that Calgarians love to drink their coffee on the fly.
Rarely do us flurried, hurried folks stop to savour a tiny cup of espresso over a fancy plate of cheese or a delicate pastry. Nope, seems we’re the types that drink our java in large doses while rushing from one meeting to the next, one big box store to another.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that. In fact, there’s no shortage of wonderful inventions and devices out there these days, meant to accommodate our crazed coffee habits. Everything from the reusable sleeve to insulate our disposable paper cup to the bulk-sized bag of coffee beans found in most every corner store. There’s the popular single cup brewers that have you sipping your coffee in less than a minute flat with one push of a button, the endless array of ergonomically-designed travel mugs meant for home, office or car, and the seven individual cup holders that now come standard on your stroller, mountain bike or SUV.
In celebration of our fondness for drinking our hot beverages on the go, we cruised the streets to find out what coffee conveniences Calgarians most commonly enjoy…
