My Halloween Guide
Halloween is easily one of the family’s favourite days to celebrate. If it falls on a weekend or in the middle of the week, it doesn’t matter. You can see the excitement on every child face as they prep their costume and dream about their ‘endless’ candy collection. Before you head out with your scary costumes, make sure that you’re ready by following these simple guidelines.
- Make-up is better than a mask; it won’t create a seeing hazard.
- Look for costumes and accessories that are "Flame-Resistant"
- Remember to keep all fire hazards in a safe place when dealing with jack-o-lanterns
- Make sure your children are clear about waiting to get home before eating any candy; they need to be thoroughly inspected by an adult first.
- Cars still drive around; so if you’re in a car, slow down. If you’re walking, keep on the sidewalk.
- Halloween night can be cold, so make sure your kids’ costumes are lose enough so that layers can be worn.
- You need to keep warm also so wear proper clothes and brew yourself a nice cup of coffee to go!
