Interview with Mayssam Samaha
Food blogger Mayssam Sahama is crazy about grub, trips and coffee, and she shares her passion with us on her blog Will Travel for Food , which she’s been running for two years now. It’s certainly worth the detour, if only to catch a glimpse of the scrumptious photos she’s posted. I met up with Mayssam to discuss her passion and her coffee routine.
Your blog, Will Travel for Food, talks about cuisine in Montreal, but also around the world. What inspired you to start it?
I started my blog two years ago, the day I took off on a foodie journey to London and Copenhagen. I wanted to share my discoveries with friends and a blog seemed like the perfect way to do so. And I’ve been doing it ever since.
Where have you visited that has a truly original cuisine?
Copenhagen is a wonderful city with great food. I’ve been twice in as many years. Also, although I wouldn’t necessarily call it an original destination, but my favourite city for foodie adventures is still New York.
You’re a real coffee lover. What’s your favourite brew?
My favourite drink out there period is a good latte. I also enjoy an espresso after a big meal.
When do you most enjoy your cup of coffee? Do you have a routine?
Yeah, I have a routine, mostly in the morning. The first thing I do when I get up is make myself a latte. I love the smell of coffee and the routine of making it while I’m half asleep. I can’t start the day without my coffee! I usually have a second latte in the afternoon.
What’s your favourite coffee city?
Coffee in Rome is delicious! But I have a few favourites all over the world: Monmouth in London, Grumpy in New York, Intelligentsia in Chicago and the Sam James Coffee Bar in Toronto.
Finally, what’s your coffee profile?
