A Funny Bean Lover blogger!
Lena Almeida recently reached out to us from “C! The Coffee Blog” as a Van Houtte enthusiast. We were really excited to hear from her and totally hit it off. With that being said, I thought I would do a little profile on her and share it with everyone.
On “Listen to Lena ”, Lena blogs about her family, food and even technology. Her style is funny, witty and very appealing. She recently posted a great recipe for Pumpkin Pie Squares , where she claims that anyone would “drool as the scent of pumpkin and spices fills your kitchen”. It’s obvious to say, she also loves her coffee. So why not find out more? Here is a little interview I did with Lena. It’s quite the laugh!
Tell us about your coffee ritual.
I used to have a splendid coffee ritual which included purchasing the most fragrant whole coffee beans; carefully grinding them at home and then peacefully savouring a cup of freshly brewed coffee perfection. That was before I had children. Now, I have a much more streamlined coffee ritual – all hail Keurig®– which usually includes separating two fighting toddlers, popping a Van Houtte Breakfast Blend K-Cup® portion pack, and counting down the seconds before the rich, aromatic liquid hits the bottom of the cup... but not before separating two fighting toddlers once again. Fact: the level of my enjoyment is exactly the same... and I wouldn’t change a thing.
What is your favourite coffee beverage?
I’m a latte, cappuccino and café mocha kind of girl – in other words, make it rich, flavourful and foamy, s'il-vous-plaît. Side note: I do not sweeten my coffee.
Is there a moment you love to savour with a coffee?
I’ve actually started savouring a cup of coffee after the kids are in bed at night. In fact, most nights you’ll find me secluded in my study with nothing but my laptop and a mug of Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Light Roast coffee to take me through my latest blog post. It’s these quiet moments when I can enjoy a special little treat that I like the most – and I find Chocolate Raspberry Truffle pairs wonderfully with a slice of pound cake and fresh fruit!
Do you have any coffee habits?
I hate wasting an ounce; I will drink ice cold coffee that has been sitting on the countertop for 3 hours if I see there’s more to be enjoyed. My husband often cringes as he sees me gulp down leftover coffee!
When do you get the time to enjoy a cup of coffee?
All day, every day. A day is not enjoyed unless it is paired with a cup or two (or five) of my favourite beverage.
What is your Coffee Profile?
I am Velvety & Fruity.
