Single Origin Collection
Nature really does it best. The soil, climate and altitude unique to each of the coffee producing countries confer a distinctive flavour to the coffee. Made from beans grown in a single country, coffees from the Single Origin Collection allow us to travel thousands of kilometres and discover a country’s terroir through the magic of a cup.
Each single origin coffee boasts traits unique to its native region or country. For example, coffee from Africa has a nice acidity and flavours of citrus or fruity wine, while Indonesia coffee has earthier and woodsier flavours with notes of nuts and a full body. Finally, coffee from Central America offers mild flavours, sometimes sweet, sometimes spicy, and has a pleasant acidity, while South America coffee features more robust and woodsy flavours.
While our Mexico coffee was already Fairtrade Certified and Organic and our Colombia coffee was already Certified Organic when we launched the Collection, our Sumatra, Costa Rica and Kenya coffees only recently obtained the Fairtrade certification , which means, among other things, that the people who produce the coffee are being paid fairly for their work. As for our Honduras San Luis Planes coffee, itis the fruit of a partnership with the Montana Verde cooperative, which has helped improve the quality of life of producers and their community, as well as strengthened the cooperative.
Each coffee from the Single Origin Collection is a tribute to its terroir, culture and artisans. A pure flavour, not the result of a blend – coffee in its simplest and most authentic form.
