Homemade Vanilla Sugar
Love the taste of vanilla?
Infuse your own sugar at home with fresh vanilla pods, scraped right off the bean. Store the vanilla sugar in a pretty mason jar to keep or as a lovely hostess gift. The sugar will store indefinitely in a cool, dry place inside an airtight container. You can also add more sugar to your jar until the vanilla bean starts to lose its flavour.
Sprinkle the vanilla sugar into your daily coffee, on French toast, on top of a fruit salad or use it when baking. If you have trouble locating a whole vanilla bean, check your local bulk or health food store.
This simple recipe will take you less than five minutes.
